Arches Watercolor Paper is made using the traditional cylinder mould method, ensuring an even distribution of fibers which makes the paper extremely stable, preventing warping or stretching when water is applied. Crafted from long, 100% cotton fibers, Arches Watercolor Paper can absorb a significant amount of water without warping or causing the colors to bleed. It is internally sized with natural gelatin, allowing it to be scratched without tearing or linting. This internal sizing also prevents paint from penetrating the paper, enabling the light to shine through the pigment and reflect off the paper, while ensuring the durability of the colors.

The cold press finish has a light texture and is the most common, reflecting light well and retaining the transparent quality of watercolors. A light grain makes it easier to achieve certain details. All Arches papers are cylinder mould made, as they have been for over a century, with long fibers resulting in a thick, stable sheet that is beautiful, durable, and resilient. Each sheet of Arches Watercolor paper is tub-sized in a bath of pure natural gelatin and then air-dried to add additional strength and durability.

Upsyde's Angle Lifts provide a convenient solution to the hassle of trying to achieve the perfect angle while working in the field. These modern inventions are easily adjustable, allowing you to create the ideal angle for viewing or working on your artwork. Upsyde Angle Lifts are 2.5" wide with a maximum height of 2-1/4" and can be used individually or combined in a stack to lift up an additional 1" at a time, achieving a greater angle to work with.

The center of each Upsyde employs a special angled grip on the inner sphere, and the combination of this grip and the use of a material with some "give" allows the Upsyde to slidly hold almost any flat item in place for short or long durations of time.
